Bridges CEDC Founders
Alton & Judith D. Trimble
Alton and Judith D. Trimble are our visionary founders, dedicated to addressing the critical needs of underserved communities. With a mission to bridge gaps in education, social services, and economic opportunities, the Trimbles have transformed countless lives through their unwavering commitment to equity and empowerment.
Under their leadership, our organization has become a cornerstone of support for families across Los Angeles County and beyond. The organization’s initiatives, such as the Bridges Academic Center of Excellence, provide K-12 students in underserved areas with access to high-quality educational resources, enabling them to reach their full academic potential.
Additionally, programs like Bridges Foster Care Support offer vital training and support to foster and biological parents, while Bridges Community Resources connects individuals and families to essential services, including mental health resources, job training, and critical resources.
Alton Trimble, Chairman and CEO of Bridges CEDC, brings decades of leadership and community development experience. A graduate of California State University, Los Angeles, with advanced degrees in Pastoral Studies and Divinity from Azusa Pacific University, he has dedicated his career to identifying and mentoring leaders and fostering community growth. His belief in education as the catalyst and conduit for change drives his efforts to create equitable access to resources that promote upward mobility and self-sufficiency.
Judith D. Trimble, served as the Executive Director until 2012, and is a trailblazer in championing educational equity. With over 26 years of experience as an educator in the Los Angeles Unified School District, she has a deep understanding of the systemic challenges faced by students in underserved communities. By addressing systemic inequities and fostering a culture of care, they continue to inspire and empower communities to achieve lasting change.
